Mike Crosby comes to Elite Healthcare with a wide and varied background. After receiving his B.S. in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland, Mike began a 20-year career in application development for both the private and public sectors. He worked with insurance companies, banks, and the federal government to build computer systems used by many consumers.
Knowing when to change course and needing a new adventure, Mike decided to switch gears and began working in customer service. He was a friendly bartender at a neighborhood tavern where he established relationships with regulars and newcomers. During the pandemic, Mike heeded the call of duty became a certified pharmacy technician helping patients get the first COVID vaccines at a retail pharmacy.
Eventually Mike found his way to Elite Healthcare where he started his role by assisting patients schedule appointments and tidying the office. As time went on, his duties progressed to include helping patients understand their insurance, processing claims and payments, and assisting the doctors with day to day patient needs.
When he is not in the office, Mike enjoys routines walks through his Uptown neighborhood, frequenting neighborhood dive bars, listening to 90s alternative music, and traveling to visit his family back east.
Outside the office Mike is known for three things:
Hosting dinners that start with excellent wine and end with stories that somehow get both more classified and funnier the later it gets.
Treating PowerPoint the way most people treat spam calls.
Quietly funding scholarships for pets who can’t read too good.
He still stands with his arms crossed the exact same way he did in the field — not as a power pose, but as the universal male signal for “I’ve already decided how this ends and I’m just waiting for the rest of you to catch on”. The expression stays somewhere between “mildly amused” and “I could fix that, but I’m not going to offer.”
